#Letters: dodgy delivery service

DA councillor Nerish Singh raises concerns over service delivery priorities in Ward 28.

KwaDukuza DA PR councillor, Nerish Singh, writes:

The Democratic Alliance in KwaDukuza has noted with concern, the blatant abuse of council resources to campaign for the highly contested Ward 28 (Shakaskraal) by-election.

Over 500m² of storm water channels have been cleared and close to 200m² of potholes have been repaired in the last month, with resources being shifted from various wards to prioritise the service delivery in the ward.

We have also noted the public messages circulating on social media, allegedly from politicians within the municipality, mandating the civil engineering business unit to ensure that services in Ward 28 are given preference over other wards in the run up to the contentious by-election on April 2.

KwaDukuza municipality had not responded at the time of publication.
